When I used to work full-time, my job prohibited me from skiing. I'm skiing again, but I've been using this name on message boards since '98, so I figured I'd stick with it for the sake of continuity.

Simplicity and obscurity- I try to make it my trademark. Plus if you take the first and last letters of my first name and switch them around you get "el". But I figured that out after I made up the name.
