Grammar not needed here
Ok so im at the point that i want to start trying new things but i get a mental block
I think it would be cool to have a thread specifically dedicated to hearing from the other riders what they would suggest to try.
i just got my front bigs to the point i can get one every set
did anyone learn shuv reverts before biggys? i feel like im just now getting the concept of spinning the board and my body and where to meet up...ive tried a few back bigs but im not there yet on em, and i really want to start lipslide shuv combos, besides shuvs on and off i dont have any variations, whats the easiest/next?
Btw i mostly ride ski so this excludes reentry stuff
what about you? _________________ https://vimeo.com/moontowerco |

Learn every trick you know heelside and toeside. That gives you doubles your quiver and brings fluidity to your riding, so u can be just as confident on both sides of the wake. If ur getting your fs bigs good, try them ts, and inside out t/s and h/s. try to get some switch down, 180s, back 180s, and shuvs, just for link tricks. Try to throw that back big every set or so, just to start getting the feel for it. I had that trick b4 fs bigs, those were tough on me haha. If you interested in liptricks, which were the first tricks i ever learned then ill list a few. Try shuv on 270 shuv off or fs 90 shuv off, or 270 off. U can even bring it to a 450 shuv off after u have gotten the 270 shuv off good, as long as you can 3shuv u can do that easy. Get your front boards and backlips DOWN. shuv outs of those are so stylish and are great link tricks. I really like what my buddies and i used to call the hampson, because he does it in sfumato. Its a shuv on, 180 to frontboard, shuv out. not to hard, u can get it. Also if you want to get techy u can try front board body variel to lipslide to shuv or or any other variation. There is so much potential for lip tricks, no idea why they went outa style. If u got a solid frontboard, try to 270 shuv to frontboard, maybe shuv out eventually. Any way. Sorry i ranted with the lipslide tricks.... ohh if u got a solid fs big, then try a 270 front shuv to lipslide, then frontshuv out, love that trick, andy p accutally does it on a rail in that new WaterMonster vid, first time ive ever seen it on a rail. So crazy. Alright well, i should probably get back to taking notes in class, hope this helped poptart! PM me if u need any more help or w/e. |

-=AlexXx=-, woot
i got alot of my goofy tricks reg, as in shuvs ,front180, back180 (flats and in out) ,
i do more stuff switch than i do toeside ...i just cant feel it
i like that lipslide list right there ,, im going to need to write those down and put that paper in my ski and just start going down the list
I just want to keep my mind open to new things as i progress
I dont want to get stuck in a rutt of the same 5 tricks and getting upset when i dont land one, i just need more stuf to do _________________ https://vimeo.com/moontowerco |

pop, i got to the same point as you i didn't know what to try next. i've just been messing around with lip stuff lately, 270 shuvs off, front 90's off, and back 180's out. and every set i usually try a few tricks i can't do just to get more comfortable with them: kickflips, bigs, etc. also another fun thing to do is take a trick you can already do and do it on a startup, they're huge and a fun variation. |

Everyone is different, I learned backbigs, then 3 shuvs, then front bigs.
1.) Try tricks you think you have no chance of landing. I was watching fun boots! and nick does a perfect ts inout backbig and I tried it that day just for fun and ended up learning it.
2.) Def take your tricks toeside, it helps a lot with winching in my opinion, some gaps are pulled from weird angles..
3.) I've been all about liptricks lately, helps so much with board control, because you have to catch it perfect if you plan on doing some combo action. |

skimboarder, wordd. your startup back 1.
I felt the same way POPTART, i usually just watch a rider better than me and see what theyre trying and try doing it. i look like an idiot at first but i have a ton of fun trying it then finally learning it. also i always work on my tricks a can do ts, ts i/o, then off the startup. im sure this didnt help at all, i'm basically just agreeing with you and -=AlexXx=-. |
