ok heres the deal ive ridden a bilevel once in my life before i got into wakeskating. somehow no one i know well enough to ask to ride there board has one? (crazy). getting enough pop consistently is my main problem and i think i could progress alot more with a bi level. I just dont want to commit all the money unless im sure it will be a good decision. Can anyone give me some info about bis and which ones they prefer.

A bi-level is extremely similar to a can of worms.

The pop is definitely consistent and a little bit more smooth in a way. Of course once you get into more shuv tricks and whatnot it spins very consistently and predicably due to the weight. So the pro's of a bilevel seem to be consistency in pop and spin, while the cons that a lot of people don't seem to like are the weight, and the durability. They are a bit more prone to breaking due to the two thin boards and their tendency to be wedged apart by the water on certain falls. Of course there are companies making efforts to improve this fault, some very successfully, and some just accept it and offer replacement top decks.
Personally, i progressed a lot when i started riding my Devotid onward, but then hit a sort of bump that i had to switch to a single level concave to get over, but i still think i prefer the weight and consistency of the bilevel.

hope that helped

For my first bi level I bought one from New Wakeskates. The board was about 185 and is very solid. I highly recommend it if you are gonna see if you like to ride bi levels or not.

You mean the sound of the bottom deck when it snaps in half? Smash

yookyle, If you're looking to ride one just see if there's anyone nearby who will let you try it out some more. I know I'll let anyone who asks give mine a shot whether I know them well or not. Most of the new Bi-Levels are relatively low on the breakage since that's a MAJOR consideration for any company that is thinking about making them.

in the end it's very much a personal preference. I really like bi-levels although I see the downsides to them too. Just pick what fits your style/preferences. what type of board you have WILL NOT make you a better wakeskater. (Clint Tomkins + flat skates = crazy)

yookyle, if your having trouble poping then try riding faster. it's not always the boards fault.

Would it be a bad idea to drill an integrity DaDa to put a New or Devotid top deck on it ?
