soooo I f'd me knee up yesterday (not wakeskating) and I know some of you fellers have torn stuff before. Let me know if I am over reacting or not about it. I can bend it and turn it left and right without any real pain but I can only bend it so far untill it gets stiff. It doesnt hurt it just feels sore. When I bend it the top of my thigh above me knee feels real stiff. It doesnt look real swollen either. Whats weird is I went maybe 2 hrs after I hurt it feeling nothing at all and then it just started getting real stiff and I could barely walk on it. That was last night This morning its feeling better and I can walk on it but it still feels funny if I put all me weight on it. Let me know what all the ws.com docs think.

def ice and elevate as much as you can and keep stretching to get rid of the stiffness. believe me you'd know it if you really fvcked something up. how'd you do it? like did you hyperextend or twist it?

sorry to hijack your thread jam, but im having some knee problems too. yesterday i twisted my knee at like 10am. ever since, every 2-5 minutes when im walking around at work my knee clicks and collapses from beneath me and hurts like hell. takes two seconds to go away but then its back after 2-5 minutes.
have i done something bad? should i see a doc?
the clicking is on the inside (medial?) of my left knee, just below my kneecap.

oh yeah its now midnight the day after.

JAM, if you have health insurance, I'd recommend just going in and getting it checked out. I think you will be better off in the long run. you could wait a bit, but if you have the means I think it's much better to get a professional opinion.

Jewett walk-in clinic in WinterPark! I know when I tore my ACL I felt it pop and it was instantly stiff and started swelling. Before that I never had any problems with my knees. The only thing that sucks about knee issues is you can't just go get an x-ray to diagnose it. They'll give you one anyway just to check it out but to really see what's going on you need an MRI which even with insurance can be expensive depending on your policy Mad

Holy knee tweak week, I to am worried about my left knee. Skated all day at OWC last Thursday and when I got home I started to limp. When I woke up my knee was swollen.
Iceing it along with being easy on it has helped the swelling go down. It sucks I really don't want another surgery, (right knee has been rebuilt).

he said it's not swollen so heat should be an issue... also it's good to alternate cold and hot.

words to live by if you're into sports/get injured a lot. As stated, avoid applying heat to your knee for a little while.

scott a, exactly but we use: PRICE x 2
P=pressure
R=rest
I=ice
C=compression
E=elevation
x2=every 2 hours for 20 minutes

I was on a cold compression system after my surgery and both my doctor and physical therapist told me it was a good idea to add some heat to the mix to help speed up recovery.

TTUFAN24, PRICE x2 is way too long of an acronym for me. I even had to copy/paste it. I think RICE is the second longest acronym I know next to ROY G BIV, which is the colors of the rainbow. Bill Nye taught me that one and he had a way of getting through to his audience. Everyone won.

Who is "we?" You work in PT or something?
