But I don't know what was the first one to actually show wakeskating.

wakemitch, I think your right, cause switch 22 was 99' I believe. I'm not sure which was the first to show wakeskating, but I believe the first kickflip was in mayday in i think 98' and of course it was Thomas who did it

There was no kickflip in mayday. I watch that one a lot at work.

I think it's the first skating section, the first Green Gorilla Lounge song some guy says something like, "this crazy son of a beach just tried to drive in front of my truck" that song is my ringtone for my wakeskating friends. beg, borrow and steal featured a lot of wakeskating, possibly more than any other video up to that point. As far as I know, erich's clip in "hit it" is the first footage in an actual release that even resembles wakeskating. He was riding his velcro board with booties and tried a kickflip, but it was outside in (not inside out or what have you). That part is just interesting to me, because you know now it's pretty standard to try stuff inside out for more pop, and not outside in.

Russian, you're probably thinking of boardumb? That has thomas' kickflip. But mayday is good because it has some footage of scott on a blunt or something, fully popping that 137 to the sky. And in the delta section, josh smith has a tad bit of wakeskating footage on a custom jobbie with traction pads. He does a wrapped toeside backside 180, wake to wake.
