for a little more effort and not nearly as much money, i think a good way to go is just to take an old pair of skate shoes, take out the soles, and drill some holes. then cut slits at the top of the tongue and remove the inside material, usually foam or cotton. then cut along the top of the heel and ankles, and remove the material there. then sew up the slits (sewing is not hard, and guys can do it.) that holds at least three quarters of the weight put on when theyre logged. i think it works just as well as shoes made for wakeskating. _________________ you must lose your mind to come to your senses. |

Ya, but i dont want to remove the stuff by the heel because that stuff makes the shoe extra comfy _________________ Back Savage |

in most skate shoes there's foam support for the heel and ankle. take and exacto knife or scissors and cut a line open above where the foam is in the ankle and heel, and take it out. then sew it up.
my shoes weigh as much as my friend's dresdens wet. and almost as light as byerlys are. _________________ you must lose your mind to come to your senses. |

yea you do have to sacrifice some comfort and support. but this is why you use your OLD skate shoes. the ones you do yard work in. the only thing is that you can get wacked in the ankle, and get a bruise you might now have had with the foam. but you could always put some back in. i think its worth the weight improvement though. _________________ you must lose your mind to come to your senses. |

i dont like the idea of taking the stuff in the tongue out, then youd have to tie them, thatd suck, i like my byerlys cuz i dont have to tie them, the shoe holds nicely on its own _________________ JMU |

just knot them up when you have them how tight you want them so you can slip in and out and not need it tighter. _________________ you must lose your mind to come to your senses. |

If you use your own skate shoes try stuffing balls of news paper in them, taking out the souls and putting them in front of the fan. If they arent dry the next day the change out the newspaper. This also helps with keeping them from getting that mildew smell. |

I have the DVS Dresdens and honestly, I don't like them as much as regular skate shoes. I think the weight of normal skate shoes just feels better, it rides with a more solid feeling on ollies over barrels and ollie bars that I really have to pop like crazy. But the grip on the bottom of the Dresdens (I think DVS shoes in general), is one of the best I've ever tried. _________________
