this is quite interesting topic
electric motors are actually better at acceleration than with speed, instead of having lots of bhp they have a lot of torque, especcially low end torque, which means that an electric powered boat would be pretty useful during the acceleration, once you pass a certain speed, the wieght of the boat and friction of the water would be to much and thats why we need 300+ bhp motors in boats.
another way to save fuel would be to add a cvt (continuosly variable transmission) to the boats engine that way once you are up to speed you can bring the engine rev's down with out having to shift into another gear and also save a little gas because the engine would be running at lower rpm which means less gas is spent per rev. _________________ pipo just wants to ride and drink... im fiznackling down with that! |

I head that they are coming out with this new type of boat that runs on wind power! |

EJazzle, that thing looks like it handles like a pregnant whale, not much of a wake either although they weren't really at a good riding speed. |

i doubt they want the thing to dig through the water and make a huge wake. i don't think the thing could handle it. |

since solar panels are only about 10% effecient, a solar powered boat would work great if you could invent a more efficient panel. |

"Pricing is not yet available, but considering that the last version of the MK1 was last shown at the Millionaire Fair, you can probably bet it's super expensive."
if theyre making it out of carbon fiber theyre trying to minimize the weight.
less weight = less power needed for more speed.
not exactly your typical wake boat haul with ballast _________________ .:Wake UP Films:.
