Last year I broke my leg at a try of a kickflip because I fell onto my wakeskate.
And now I am really scared that it happens again.
How can I practice the kickflip with the safety not falling on my deck?
I will try it in the flat on a cable! |

try to put you skate on a trampoline if you have one. and tie a rope to a tree about a towers height and try them that way. its something like doing them on the water |

How did you fall on your board? Like the board was in the water and your leg landed on it or did you land on your feet and fall funn? That sounds messed up, I would be nervous about doing them now too if I broke my leg trying them.
A lot of times when I attempt kickflips, my hand goes through the handle and catches my forearm or elbow. |

I don't know exactly how I landed on my board.
But I think I landed with the left foot on the bord and with my right foot in the water.
I hardly broke my femoral and wasn't allowed to do sports 7 months.
I am really nervous doing them.
But in Germany nearly nobody can do Kickflips so I want to attemp this trick again.
So how can I practice that on the water that my fear of the kickflip goes away. |

Sometimes you just have to get out there and ride, most of the time when I'm riding the adrenaline kicks in and I don't think about anything else. If you're still thinking about it, the best way to dispel a fear is to just go out there and do it. Practicing on a skate is never going to be exactly like riding in the water. |

That's pretty scary about the hand going through the handle Dave. I guy I know had that happen wakeboard and and he ripped his bicep off his upper arm and it moved to his fore arm. After a ten hour surgery he has no bicep anymore, it all died, and they had to skingraph muscle from his leg to the upper arm area. Basically he only has a bone on the top of his arm, the worst part is he was a gymnast and a super athletic guy. Fortunately for him he is really positive and works it out hardcore all day, he can now life ten pounds with no bicep at all, and the doctors say it is actually starting to grow back which is fairly rare. All in all it can really instill a little fear in you while riding, but there is no point is worry about such a freak accident. |

Pat McCarthy also did it wakeboarding and tore his bicep. He recovered from it fully. That is pretty crazy about your friend. Sounds like he is determined to not let it slow him down. |

I was at O-Dub the other day and I landed on the edge of the picnic table rail with my face. I was nervous to hit it again but just decided to go for it. I know it's not like breaking your leg but just try to get over your fear and do it again. Mad props to you by the way. |
