It's not my personal preference, but some people appreciate it's excessive weight.

bi-levels are nice but the top decks wear out to quick and i apreciate the extra control of a concave. :] _________________ tww 4 life

I ride a 42 inch bi-level and I dig it. I'm one who appreciates the perfect weight of that board. When I first rode one, I just liked the fact that you could feel it when you caught it. And Raven will attest to this, but when you shuv that thing or spin it under your feet, it's like it spins in slow motion...there's nothing like it and it's a different feeling board all together. For me, it makes riding fun. I feel sentimental and tend to reminisce when I see the flat deck footage from people like drew, thomas or cole...but I also remember the days when I was riding my flat and wished I had a different board under my feet (which, quite frankly, was just last summer).
I really wouldn't say a bi-level generates more pop, per se. If you put in the time, you can ride any board and ride it well. What i like is the style of pop...it feels more skate styled in that there's less delay from when you snap the tail down to when that board exits the water. Basically how it's described is that the board's lift is accelerated from the water. For me, that just adds a lot of confidence and I don't think as much when I'm hitting the start up roller or something and I'm getting ready to slam that tail down. I know that the board is going to be with my feet...I didn't always feel that way when I rode my flat deck because there were definitely times when the deck didn't keep up with my back foot. Doing A serious splits is a fear of mine, since i've already gone through a serious knee injury from wakeboarding.
one other thing that's sick about the cassette bi-level is the concave. It's deep and dished and it feels really good under my feet. Lately I've re-adjusted my ollie technique and I try to slide my front forward a bit like you would on a skateboard, and then you have that nose to catch and level the deck out with. At any rate, I haven't had the chance to ride any of the other bi-levels, so cassette is all I can tell you about.
I guess one negative quality could be that you really have to watch how you land. You don't want to be landing on the tail or nose all the time because that will shorten the life of that top deck. You want to land bolts, which feels sick anyway and will improve your style.
Finally, In my opinion, you really need a solid set of fundamentals to benefit from a bi-level. Not only does the weight take a little getting used to (but once you have the muscle memory, you're golden), but I think it's important to have a solid ollie down and things like that. You're going to need to kick your front foot forward to level it (not that you don't on any other board, but for me, some boards force me to do that more than others). And if you're expecting this board to magically make you ollie higher, you'll be disappointed because you need to know how to ride first (any board, that is). It's not a magic bean.
Conwest, if I had the money, so help me god...sweet mother of pearl...and sweet holy moses, that thing would already be resting in my loving arms.. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com*

I just go the Deuce-Pop a few weeks ago, and I love it.
The weight does take some getting used to, but when you do get used to it, you'll love it. _________________
