| yea i like having a true boat wake for w2w but i love the feel of the jet ski, plus it doesnt cost a fortune to run a ski all day. Who knows ill just have to demo one or get a pull behind the ski. |

ive got a 2000 yamaha gp1200r and the wake is pretty decent for a ski. if i want the wake bigger i just trim it out so the nose is pointed more upwards. _________________ .............for no particular rhyme or reason............. |

Im a 4th year Industrial Designer. specializing in automotive design currently working on a wakeboarding-specific thesis. essentially its a 3-4 person PWC with a tower, speed control (more advanced than the current ones), a deep v-hull, ballat, and some little extras. there will be stability fins of some sort, as well as a possible keele which will keep the craft from rocking. Im having trouble with propulsion. everyone knows propeller is far better than jet, but then jet is safer, and allows for shallow/weedy wakeskatin/boarding. Im going to play with the idea of 2 smaller jets...
remember this is a thesis, and it is only in the beginning stages of development. (no pics....yet)
I would like any THOUGHTFUL feedback from you guys.
cheers

wakemitch - the more water displaced = the larger the wake. wakeboard BOATS use a deep 'v' hull to create a large wake. Im trying to find a way to stop the rocking of the craft when the rider cuts out... one option to to go a little technical and have parts of the hull on each side move outward when wakeboarding....kina like a catamaran....but i doubt that idea will go very far once i begin to follow it...
keep in mind why jet skis are flat bottomed...so the jet works properly...as well as manouverability. the flat bottom allows for the boat to 'slide' along the surface. this is terrible when attempting to keep the craft in a straight line during a pass at a rail. |

| i think i remember hearing that the purpose of the balist system was to change the shape of the wake....not necessarily make it bigger but make it rampyer or mellower and shizzle like that... not totaly sure tho |
