|
|
this is gonna be a winch, and transportation in 1
the main base is going to be a go kart, the rope and rope guide thingy are going to be in the middle of the back axel(there will be oversized wheels so the rope doesn't scrape) for tires have soft tipped paddle tires(the ones with big scoops on them, youll see why soon) for the frame, a lightweight and cheap aluminum frame filled with that great stuff(foam spray that expands and stuff), this maneuver isn't to terribly hard, ive done something close to it. underneath the whole go-kart have high density styrofoam thats covered in aluminum(i just built a roof with it today its really floatie, i was screwing around with the scraps) ill also rig up some type of anchor/jack system to hold it in place and at the same time get the back wheels a good bit off the ground so the rope doesnt drag on the ground and the wheels can spin without catching
the whole idea behind this is a go anywhere winch, to winch those spots that would be near impossible any other way. also itd be pretty pimp to just ride up somwhere and start winching from the way i see it, it should be able to float, and slowly move around in the water
if anybody wants to add some good ideas go ahead, and if any rich people wanna try to produce one, im all for helping |

your going to need a way to allow the rope sprocket to free wheel while "driving" while simultanously dis-allowing the rope to spool out sounds like alot of work good luck! _________________ why dont you try playing hide and go Fvck yourself

JeffKnox, there now it makes sense. . . and its a little more complex than just a disengaging spool; that would still allow the rope to spool out on its own.
on a side note it would seem to me (not trying to be nay sayer just some food for thought) that you are putting you engine at risk for not alot of pay off, if the unit tips and the engine gets submerged thats your whole day maybe your whole week depending on the situation just ask the guy whos winch went swimming with fyre, keaton, not so bueno, brandon, and myself. _________________ why dont you try playing hide and go Fvck yourself |

kento911, yea i see what you mean... dont they have horizontal shaft engines with two drive shafts? hook one up to the axle driving the wheels and one up to a completely different shaft holding the spool... (thats if the two shafts spin independent from themselves, im not sure how those engines work)
ps... weve had a swimmer too... lots of work gettin runnin the way its suppose to _________________ PAVT since '05/'06 |

i dont think i need this spool thing you people talk of, i was just going to jack up the rear end so the wheels can spin freely while the rope comes and goes |

you should have different gears, like forwards, reverse, and winch _________________ I run show where ever I go. |
