While not all big name fighters (yet) this is really a phenominal free event. All should watch for some excellent fighting.

Another cool thing about it is the UFC is putting it on in a Hangar on the base. The crowd will be about 90% marines, as they got free tix. Very very cool event.

I love how UFC has decided against Pay-Per-View for the most part. Even some of their big fights for the last year or so have been on Spike.

Diego should win.
I''m looking for Koscheck to win.
Karo should win.
I'd love to see Shone 'ill negro' Carter win, but that is a tough call.

I'm hoping to see a couple undercards as well.

Jesse, the UFC had about 10 or so ppv events this year and about 5 or 6 freebies on spike. There should be more of the same next year. Look for a possible announcement or two during the telecast tomorrow regarding fighter signings and UFC purchases!!!

Chuck will lose because he is gonna be featured on UFC all access prior to the fights. All the champs who have been featured on this show have lost their belts. (Franklin, Hughes, Arlovski)

SleuCrew, I'm sure the fights will be replayed at some point on Spike. It is worth the watch IMO.

Understood...perfect is a pretty lofty term, but I find myself just about giddy anytime I get to watch mma, any organization, free or ppv, so take it with a grain of salt. It is my #2 passtime next to wakeskating. Love watching it and discussing it with others.

Marcus said he had Shonie in his head & was worried that wobbling Shonie was faking it & that is why he didn't attack. Good enough reason to not pummell and end the fight?....i'm not a fighter so I can't really say.

Kos vs. Joslin was a pretty darn good fight IMO. Joslin's guard completely negated Kos' ground and pound. Josliin was obviously the better striker & Kos fought a very smart fight...stayed true to his game and didn't do anything stupid to cost him the fight. IMO Kos wasn't laying so much as being tied up by Joslin this time. I try to keep in mind that Kos has only been doing this for about 3 years or so.

Fickett...cuts are a part of the game...you can die by the other side of that sword too...Imagine how much blood Fickett had to swallow from that nasty gash...I'm not really a fan of cutting to win, but cuts are a part of the game, at least as long as they allow elbows. For sure tho, Karo was posessed to win that fight. Lots of action = for me, very cool.

Riggs cracks me up....he is sooooo cocky before the fight and I don't know if he is in over his head or he just has the worst luck in the UFC. Not saying he has no talent, but for all the people who say he is awesome in training....i just don't get it. Admitedly he has been tooled by some of the best the UFC has to offer (Diego, Hughes, Swick). I think he is a good gatekeeper for the top 10 in the 170 division.

All the fights on TV last night were at 170. Translation, only Diego is possibly ready to step in with GSP. Give Kos another year and a half and he may be ready. Right now, I'd take GSP against all of them at the same time.

All very good points. I was not bashing your post. Just opinions.

Agreed, I have all the UFC stuff on my Season Pass. I just get sick of crappy matchups or lack luster fighters getting the spotlight when there are others out there with potential and that will put on a show.

Agreed about Marcus but he had plenty of opportunities to finish. I feel all he had to do was just throw decent combos and he would have had it. Even Joe was just like yeah whatever lets look at the tape. Hopefully we won’t see much more of Davis.

Hands down Joslin is the real deal. I like him and the way he fought. I know Kos has developed his stand up but it didn’t show at all last night when all he threw was that ugly sloppy right. If he didn’t have those take downs he would have lost! It doesn’t say much about you as a fighter if the ref keeps standing you up because you are not attempting to advance.

The whole elbow debate is just that. There are people on both sides of the cage on that one hahah. Elbows, knees on the ground and take down or general scoring are all huge debates and issues with the current UFC or actually the gaming commission.

Riggs is a good fighter and is very athletic. He has had a rough year and some bad losses and he just cant get it right. He thought Diego's striking was lacking and it still is, but Diego got lucky and caught him and FINISHED.

I am not sure when Diego will get a title shot. We will have to see. Agreed on GSP though, he’s got it all and wants it more than anyone. The only one at 170 giving him a hard fight is Penn in my opinion and Penn said recently that he’s staying at 170 so we will see.
