I think more girls should wakeboard and wakeskate. That would be BEAST!!! It would be good if more girls skateboarded too so I'm not the only girl at the parks. So if there are any girls reading this and you do these things too, YOU ROCK!!!- nikki Very Happy

I guess you're right, I haven't seen alot of black people even on the water. I have noticed that there are more black kids skateboarding though.

if somebody says wakeboarding it really doesnt bother me. i usually dont label wakeskating as a sport to people. i once heard somebody talking about skateboarding and he said "i hate it when people label skateboarding as a sport, it is not a sport. there are no teams in skateboarding, we dont go around grabbing each others asses dressed in uniforms. skateboarding is an art." i feel that statement applies to wakeskating as much as skateboarding.

I think black wakeskaters would be awesome, especially since most black skaters have a really good style I would wanna see what a black wakeskater would be like. A Devine Calloway wakeskater would be tight to see.

I think wakeskating is more like skateboarding on water and wakeboaring is a little more like snowboarding but way better. I like them both but I'm better at wakeboarding because I've been doing it longer.

Wakeskating = real wood

'nuff said.

Wait until everyone knows what wakeskating is, then you will all be pissed because everyone is on the water doing doughnuts to pick up their friends on PWC's. Be grateful it's still unknown.

When I started skateboarding, it was still against the law. Now the kids look at me like some old fart and I laugh thinking that skate park would not be here if we didnt't get chased out of every mall, parking lot, parking garage etc. They got sooo sick of us, they built a place for for to go and skate. It's called a skate park. Just cause I ride a long board, doesn't mean I am a kook. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I had to explain my wakeskate bag a billion times while going through the airport. I finally just said it's a snowboard to be left alone. It didn't help that it was a shiney silver Dakine attention getter either.

It's not that people don't know what it is, but i mean it shouldn't be too hard to take a little step in your mind from wakeboarding to wakeskating, i mean when i heard about wakeskating at first, i immediately thought "hmmm... wakeskating? sounds like skateboarding on the water!" before asking a retarted question.

Mr. Top Hat, I think that both wakeskating and skateboarding have qualities that would define them as sports, as well as some that would lean more to the side of being art, but i have never felt the need to classify them as a "sport," or an "art," a "lifestyle," or anything like that. Skateboarding is skateboarding and wakeskating is wakeskating. Period. Anyone could prove them to be something time and time again and it would ultimately mean nothing, because everyone has a different way of viewing them. I know that for me, wakeskating and skateboarding both bring an amount of joy, anger, frustration, sadness, and overall sense of feeling that is unmatched by anything else and they have brought my entire thought process to a new and different standard. That is the only way i can explain them. No one word or phrase can identify wakeskating or skateboarding except for "wakeskating" and "skateboarding."
