i had that same problem
i dugg out a bigg area of sand, then nailed a big sheet of ply wood to th bottum of the 2by4 wood posts that where holding up the rail and then put the big recatngluer sheets of ply wood in the pitt and covered it in sand, held up perfectly and didnt move at all, but alottt of work

That's a good method or you could just sharpen the ends of your 4x4's and drive them with a sledge.
