Digging a Wakeskating Ditch

Hey, just wondering if anyone out there has ever tried actually digging a ditch to ride in. There arent any near me and we are about to get property that has some space that i can use. If you have any basic info like : how deep it should be, how wide, how long, what to use to keep water in it, this is a really stupid idea and you should use your boat instead of waisting your time with a shovel, any of that kind of stuff.

put a plastice tarp for a liner, and im assuming you'll be using a winch?

ive ridden an a country dug ditch...and in my backyard when if flooded (wakeboard) but i dont know about one dug specifically for it, as to how deep and wide, well really as wide as you can go and at least 3-4ft deep to be safe...any less andyou may as well jsut do 1ft because the first time you fall you are going to brake your neck if its anything bad...but who cares about that. lol.
as for how to dig it... rent a bob cat, you will have the best time of your life with one of thoes things...
