Went to the Bi-Level? Yes it took wakeskating in a new direction... but you guys know about all the problems. Wakeworld is dumb. And so are then people who voted. |

My buddy just got the bottom deck of a broken bi-level from a local boardshop and I tried it out this morning. It was awesome! Really loose and barely had to kick for shuvs/3 shuvs. Although it was fun, I feel better riding my Cassette or Kampus... |

wakeworld isnt dumb, your dumb. The Bilevel is an amazing board, and yes the first batch had some problems, trust me i know they did, Im still waiting on a replacement. BUT the board did own on the fact that it was a completley new design and idea and i think thats why the people who voted thought it deserved board of the year. Your probably thinking integrity should have taken the crown, but the board is too new and not as many people have ridden them as say a bilevel. Especially here in canada, integs are rare to see. Give it a year or two and who knows what will happen. _________________ oh great now i have ink all over the screen |

wakeworld is dumb. but the bi level is a very sick concept and this was their first year. once they fix everything that is needed it will indeed be a great board _________________ "That Hansel is so hot right now"

I think the cassette was the right choice but numbers 2 and 3 were definitely wrong. |

I wonder if dave could do something like wakeworld did but here on wakeskating.com that would be pretty cool to see how are answers differed. |

I would vote for the Bi-Level. It's the most innovative and unique design this whole year - wakeboard or wakeskate. no other board is like it, unless you count snowskates... the integrity is a good board and all (in most peoples opinions) but it doesnt have that "stand-out" effect that the BL has. _________________

hes right, when i saw it, i practically blew in my pants.
n i think the bi level does deserve wakeskate of the year for being most innovative. _________________ Please. Do me a favour and don't take anything i say seriously, anything. |

So vance, would the bi-level be a worthy candidate for "wakeskate of the year" if the first batch had not been pressed incorrectly? Or is it a giant turd, regardless of the construction?
personally, I think wakeworld was right on (and that's how I voted as well). I don't agree with the hype decks in the following spots...I was really surprised with that. Considering the west coast contingent on that message board, I'm surprised integrity didn't rank higher. But it's not dave's fault for the way that the people vote. It's a completely different crowd over there with (I would guess, for the most part) a completely different set of interests. In the end, it's just an internet poll. Don't cry yourself to sleep over it or anything. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

Correct. I'm not hating on Cassette at all, i've rode the bi-level and love it. Its an awesome innovation, the best of time for wakeskating. But they didnt get it right in 05. Whether it was pressed wrong or what not.
And no I'm saying Integrity should have won, they are soo new on the scene they can't just bust in like that and win first place. Over time I think Integrity will be up there with Cassette because Schmaltz is a genius.
For example -- Say a car company comes out with some awesome car that gets you 80 mpg, but breaks down after you get it and you still have to drive your crappy car until your new car is fixed. Would they win the JD power award? No.
I <3 Cassette. I'm not hating on them. I just wanted to have a conversation about how I didn't believe they should have got wakeskate of the year.

i rode a bilevel for the first time the other day... it might have been cause i dont ride with fins and it had fins on it, but basicaly i thought for as much as the bi level is and how often it breaks, they are over rated....
Its just my opionion..... I mean i didnt hate it, i didnt love it, i liked it i just didnt think it was worth the money.... I could see my self riding one though... finless though |

Innovative for sure...however are two levels necessary ? I'm not technically qualified to answer that myself; however the question did pop in my gourd head. Kinda like a bi-level spoon for eating cereal ?? I don't know. Peace. _________________ If it don't kill you..it ain't bad. If it does..it won't matter. |
