Nick, do you think it's the wakeskate or the difference in rider ability levels and technique that made the difference between david and vance? I guess with a different contrast, how about if I compared aaron reed to vance? Do you think their performance would look the same? Would you take my statement as fact if I said the bi-level had more pop than vance's board?
A board can help a rider, that's for sure. But good technique is more important than anything. I used this example before, but timmy K. won that ollie contest on a GB wood concave, which is probably the least technical wakeskate out there. And aaron reed ollied damn high on those original concaves...I think his ollie may have been higher than tim's but I can't remember at this point.
As for the bi-level, at this point in time it is a gamble, especially since nobody knows how this next batch will work out. What it comes down to is what you're going to have the most fun on and what you're looking for in a board. For my personal tastes, all of the pros of the bi-level outweigh all of the cons and risks, so I will be spending my money on one. For me, it's the only board I even want to ride right now.
But if you want something durable, an integrity might be the way for you to go at this point in time. Man, I can't even remember your question anymore... _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

Esnow beat me to it on the Nick Taylor thing. I was like "that could be because of skill difference" and then.

Yea, I pretty much suck at life...
I think my point was that the bi-level is not some magic carpet that makes you instantly able to ollie 3 ft no wake buoys, you gotta be Reed for that. It definitely mostly has to do with the rider, but a board can hold you back/help you greatly... _________________ √ |

im in the process of re doing my bi level right now. its coming along great and when im done ill try to post sum pics. i dont kno why cassette didnt paint the boards before clearing them because mold always builds up on unpainted boards which cause them to become weaker, delam, then break. o well whatever works _________________ Go BIG or Go Fishing...

You are right nick, but you made it seem like one board was automatically poppier than the other, based on two different people. Seriously, I could get a pic of thomas doing a re-entry ollie on a chopped wake tech and say that that board had more pop than both the bi-level and the integrity. And you don't have to be reed to ollie high (nor would you necessarily need a 300 dollar board), you just need good technique. And maybe big feet...
Anyway, both boards feel different as well, so it's a weird comparison.
Finally, my job makes me hate life. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

You know, I rode an Integrity and hated everything about the ride, and felt like it had no pop and after trying it for a month went back to riding my waterlogged 03 Cassette 4-trac. Like electricsnow said, its technique AND a major factor is preference. Most importantly with someone like Reed, I would bet he could ollie just as well on an Integrity as he could on his Bi-level, it's just what feels better for him to ride. _________________

jboss, nick posted a couple of pics of him olling off the wake of the ski as he is being pulled out. It makes a veru different type of wake and it really push you.
On those pics he is close to what reed is doing... close... _________________

jboss, . . that is an inside out ollie, not a flat water ollie and Ive seen other riders do them that high. . . . .oh and uhhh. . .WAH WAH WAH. . . . . . .
anyways the fact is a good rider could own everyone here on a CWB Lucky if they set to do it, truthfully the bi is unique. . I dont like it personally, and I really do like the Integ more, but personally I am a Kampus Swing fan til I get my hands on an Omen, but if you buy a board b/c these butt monkeys (even the ones who know what there talking about) say so your a fool, truth is you will change, no matter what you get you will evolve and want something different in a year or two gauranteed so buy one and go have fun. . . . but uhhh if you buy a Gate it uuuuhhhhh will be alot harder to have fun lol as I have discovered recently _________________ why dont you try playing hide and go Fvck yourself |

That is officially the dumbest thing I have ever read on this website.
6ft, come on dude?????????
I have personally seen shove attmepts that high, and seen clips of Ryan lemnons getting very close if not that high.
Remember that the Intarnet is not the best place to judge progression.
Also remember that perspective through a camera can have a dramatic affect on the way something looks |

jboss, let me be as clear as possible, I have pesronally witnesed(I was driving) shove-it attempts as high as the aformentioned picture. Like I said before, the INTARNET is not the only place to see the progresion of wakeskating.
Just so were clear, with proper technique it does not take much to get good height off of an inside-out from startup if you use a wedge technique.
oh yeah, please forgive my spelling, for it is late and I am quite buzzed.
p.s.s. Kento you are a jerk, but aren't we all |
