mini dvd editing question.....

I have a camera that uses mini DvD's does anyone know how to get the footage to where I can edit it with windows movie maker ????? Its driving me crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PIRATE, well i was asking that cus i could never upload the footage onto my computer, assuming yours is USB aswell, it wont be possible, thats why its on dvd so you can directly put it into a dvd player......sorry bro

well, does your camera have a DV output? or only USB

PIRATE, you might have to change the file format.. ive never used windows movie maker so i really cant give you great advice.. but when you try and upload it you should be able to chose what type of file..

What's up? What kind of computer? If you have a mac you can download a freeware program called mac the ripper that will rip the dvd and convert it to q-time mov. files or what ever you tell it to. I'm pretty sure there is a similar program for PC. Just do some searching. The bad thing about the DVD cams is you don't want to edit the footage because of the poor quality. When you shoot, the footage is compressed in camera to an m-peg format. The footage looks Not the best but ok when play the dvd but as soon as you try to edit, it starts to look like shizzle.

My buddy is having the same trouble, i guess he heard that the sony vaio program might work with mini dvd.. but other than that he hasnt got crap.. its a pain in the ass converting it from dvd too, we tryed and it worked but we lost all sound and the file was gigantic.. then we gave up..
