This is the basic rail I made recently...I used hardwood for the A-frame legs and old bits of timber for the supports. I bolted two bits of PVC on to a wooden base, which sits on the A-frame legs. It's way too short but now I know how to make a bigger jib that's solid as a rock! We basically sat it in shallow water with a sandy base.
you better weigh it down like a mother because i made one just like that and it floated.....unless you can ollie like 3 feet that thing is gonna need to be in deeper water and it will float.....also it looks kinda short. ming was only 10ft long
Yeah, it is way too short...but the design is sweet so I'll just adjust it and make it bigger. The legs were hardwood which is really heavy so it sat on the bottom perfectly!!
I live Northern Beaches, Sydney. The only thing I bought was the hardwood for the legs. It cost $20-$30. A mate got me the PVC for free(you can normally find some lying around somewhere). Good luck with it!!
