oh and congrats on winning that thing (well atleast in my mind you did.) I didn't even see it but im smart enough to know that a indy shuvit out of a pool isn't nearly as tech or balsy as shuviting onto a rail. Laughing

haha thanks. some people that were "judging" were pulling for a tie between gore and i, and i would've been happy to split the $450 with him.

boardslide front shove out, and a f/s 180 down the gap, after they took the rail out. and i just had a boardslide back shove out, and a back shove to board/lipslide...

we were all talking about it and decided that a shuv on was way more tech and should win, but some people, not wakeskaters, that sponsored the event thought gores 180 was better. personally i thought the money should get split cause it was like two different things and do a best rail trick and a best gap trick.
then after jimmie said they had to shut down riding TWICE or more john landed a shuv to indy on the very last pull on the gap.
yes it was sick and yes i think it was better than gores 180 BUT...

there was 3 OTHER people trying shuvs down the gap and all were close
NO ONE that i saw tried a shuv on, correct me if im wrong tho

yeah i heard some wierd stuff about the comp.... I heards alot of stuff went wrong, not that it was anyone's fault but just certain circumstances made for a tougher time then it should have been.

i rode in the ollie thing and landed the highest point that anyone else did and then the tiredness hit, i was out at the site till 4:30am helping out and then got back there at 10:30. and i hit the rail once and that was it. then they moved the rail and i hit that and came pretty close to a shuv.

john won because of the general feeling of the crowd. and kyle did win money for his shuv on, but the water was a little shallow so gap tricks were awarded a little more credit than usual. and i did announce it being shut down a few times because the club owner kept telling me we were running late. you get fined 1500 bucks for noise ordinance violation and assembly violation after 10. it was only supposed to go until 9, but everyone wanted to see some gap tricks go down so we kept it going until 10:30.
i try to model my comps after skateboard comps as much as possible. and for best trick there are always people who win money for tricks being called out, but in the end there is only one first place. i will say it was very close. i was really surprised and happy at the talent displayed at the brodeo. not to bad considering all the kinks. next time should go a little more smooth.
