are some people really this stupid?

I was listening to the radio today. One of the local stations has a thing called "Wacky Wednesdays" and they tell all kinds of stories of people doing stupid things. Well last wednesday they had the "Wackiest wednesday" for the ehnd of the year. Well Heres the story...

These people just got their boat and wanted to take it for a test run. They start it up just fine. But they heard "putt putt putt putt" and the boat would barely go. They decided to drive it to the marina(by lake). The people come out and start it up and its starts up just fine. So one of the guys jumps in the water to see if something was stuck on the bottom. He gets down there and finds the trailor is still attached to the boat. So they had pulled the boat to the lake. Took the trailor off the hitch, rolled it into the lake and drove off....

I dont see how people can be soo stupid

That is just rediculous. The scary part is that people like that actually buy boats and cars and drive them around right next to all of us!

That story has been going around for years, so it's probably just an urban legend. But then my friend tried to unhook the trailer when I asked him to release the winch so I guess it could happen Embarassed

Geez Tyler, it's not about believing you is it? You didn't claim that YOU saw it did you? Do I believe you heard it on the radio and believe it? Yes. That has NOTHING to do with whether it's a true story or not.

Anytime you hear a story and it exactly matches an urban legend you have to wonder - why NOT be skeptical?

BillJ, cuz I said the have proof! proof is proof! I hate it when people cant just take someone words. Thats why we have all these legal things that screw up america. We used to go by each others word and by a hand shack, nope not anymore. you have to have 50 pages contracts!

Tyler I hear things and get email all of the time where the person swears it's true - Bill Gates is going to send them a check for forwarding an email for example. And it's NEVER true. So I'm always skeptical of things I find on the internet.

If you go back to my original post, you'll notice that I say it's probably an urban legend and it could be true. Not once did I say you made it up or that anyone else made it up. Sorry to get you so upset about it though.
