|
|
Im looking into buying a non-USCG vest. Do these vests provide enough flotation for a deepwater start on a wakeskate, or will I struggle to stay afloat? I've never used one before... thats why im asking. My regular Galyans vest is way too bulky and gives me mad rashes around the arms (and it just looks gay ). Thanks. |

u don't need a vest for a deepwater start I mean you could deepwater start naked lol. You can stay afloat by just standing on your deck in the water with your knees bent.
just check if the vest keeps you at the surface if you empty your lungs completely... That's what vests are for _________________

Just talked to the parents... That say that I can't use our boat or jetskis unless I have a USCG approved vest . Any suggesions on really slim, nice looking vests that ARE USCG approved? Im looking for somthing that looks like a Jet Pilot A-10 or somthing of the same design. |

well the real diff. between the uscg and nonuscg is the way it hold up your head and supports you. even if the vest can keep you afloat it doesnt mean its safe, thats why its NON-uscg approved. so theres no point in debating that. i have a non coast guard cause i know if i do go unconscience i will have someone on the boat to save me before i go down. because it will hold me afloat. i would just probably have my head under water |

I have a liquid for CGA vest that is as thin and light as any non CGA I have tried on. It is very comfortable.
I think a non CGA is just a waste of money. They do not count as a floatation device in your boat, so then you have to have a CGA item for you plus your non CGA vest. Secondly, that mad cool non CGA vest cannot be worn when you go rida a PWC . . . _________________ Kampus K39 with foam and Keen Sandals
