electricsnow, these efforts aren't useless. I'm sure that Parky will change his opinion and order a legit board.
Parky, ask Greg Van Wagnen, the Kampus Swing 41'' is a state-of-the-art board and it's on sale for USD 120...

i just got a scape 116 and i havent gotten to use it yet but i got it frum www.grizzly-sports.com for 55 bucks. i think i special deal tho because i got an email frum them because i bid on a board on ebay. also does ne 1 no if the scape is a good board cause it seems way bigger than the otha boards i've seen

Interestingly enough parky, there were how many other people trying to convince you to stay the hell away from the knock-offs. I just agree with them. I think that at this time in wakeskating, it's important to support the companies that actually care about wakeskating, have a soul, and genuinely put their hearts in it to help things progress. Yeah, liquid might have helped develop the concave, but they're clinging to a two year old model just for a piece of the market, and that's what I hate. There are other companies trying to develop new things for the sake of progression and from my perspective, others make a half assed attempt at putting out a wakeskate (as I said) for marketing purposes. The same thing goes for 484. Sorry doode....

I'll be the first to admit that I ride a cassette and I love it and I'm a huge fan of brand loyalty, but I'm so stoked on the fact that erich schmaltz has done what he said he would do all along, and that's come up with something completely different, something nobody else has. So, if erich can do it, why can't liquid? Surely they have the resources......

Lastly, It's unfortunate that Josh hit it right on the head. YOu've jumped from hype, to cassette to hype to liquid to....everywhere. I guess I just wonder what it is that motivates your purchases...is it the coolness factor? I guess that's for you to decide. I would also like to say that there isn't any one brand that's going to make anyone out there cool, but it sucks when people are giving money to the enemy and don't really care about it, just for a wakeskate.

Anyway, that's what I think....wakeskating is so small right now and it's definitely at a stage of influence, so I feel it's important to support those that really care (i.e. rider owned companies). And that includes butter too, because paco invests his resources into making some cool wakeskating products for everyone out there because he sincerely enjoys and cares about wakeskating. So, buy rider owned!

Hey, if there's a liquid force guy drinking from a liquid force cup, does that mean liquid force is supposed to have a glass of...whatever it says on your little banner? Besides, I think we all could debate all day as to who should "think before they say something stupid." Anyway, a good weekend to all...

I just don't think he get's it electricsnow.He's young with lot's to learn it's just to bad he doesn't listen to some of the good free advice being handed out here.Wakeboarding is already on it's way to being an elitist sport like waterskiing let's keep wakeskating real and headed in the right direction.

im not sayin its ne thing bad with advice i could use it but i just think ppl r puttin to much thot into this. just because u have options on which skate doesnt mean u have to worry about the brand name. i couldn't care less about knock-offs as long as they ride rite

Not thinking is what's going to kill off the good companies and let the greedy ones continue on. Some care about what they make, some don't and just want your $$.

Flyguy there's a difference between making a reasonable profit and the corporate giant where shareholder price and profit is the ONLY issue.I've seen the changes from the corporate giant where I live when Intrawest bought Blackomb then Whistler eliminating competition milked the town for max buck then start cutbacks on employees as soon as they thought they might lose money once again bringing themselves record profits but s@#$ service and no respect for the locals.

i dont understand wat ur talkin about with the companies but i think i get wat ur sayin and its nutin like that where i live so i cant relate. maybe ur rite but if the company is evil it doesnt bother me if i can get a good cheap board

I could agree with that if you were broke and the difference was huge but guess what you generally skate behind a boat=$ which uses gas=$ so a 50-100$ price dif on something that last's you at least a season is trivial.
It's the buying the cheapest product without giving a s#$% about what 's behind it that's killing all the quality in our world.Pretty soon you won't be able to buy anything that isn't made in China.
