Cuz Burtons the Hyperlite of Snowboards, great riders but sucky equipment and driven by the profit motive not by the riders

I'm all for Trice but I'm against Rossi and the other ski companies sneaking in snowboarding's back door and grabbing piles of cash... Support Never Summer or Capita or Rome or one of those nice for snowboarders-by-snowboarders comapnies. They like you.

This ended up being really funny. Both hype and rossi are "skiboard" companies. At least burton has always made snowboards....but now you can buy shose too!! Seriously though, I'm pretty sure burton has an interesting history, but nobody will really talk about it. All I know is that initially, jake was all about the "dolla dolla bills yall" but once he chilled on that, burton started to work out.

Also, there was this dude on the wakeboarding forums from maryland that flys/flew with the guy that originally held the patent for a snowboard (bob weber), and he (bob) ended up selling it to jake.

I'm with el on this one. There are lots of smaller, rider owned (or at least rider-operated) companies that are worth while.

Finally...buy Afterlame!!

Well, it's the consumers that have control of the industry. If there's something that's worthwhile and worth supporting, buy it. If you don't like what they're doing, whether it's their business ethics or their board quality, don't buy it.

electricsnow, you think you know more about the industry than i do i dont think so, i ride with a lot of the pros at mammoth and big bear and i know more about the history of snowboarding than you and that burton was the founder of it and how they created a snerfer and all that good stuff. For Your Information snowboarding unless its urban sucks in Wisconson.

I never tried to act like I knew more than you, nor did I say anything like that. I was just saying that at least burton has always made snowboards. I do agree in that it's not the same company it once was ie. they're highly driven, profit wise. It's debatable, but I see them as the lesser of the two evils, when it comes to an actual snowboard company vs. a ski company making snowboards. Anyway, whatever.

As for the suckyness of their equipment, I can't really comment on that because I've never ridden any of their stuff. but I do question their new insert pattern on the unincs. All I know is I'd rather ride a burton than a rossi or a k2 or a salomon or...skis!

G-squadriderz fu*k you, snowboarding doesnt suck in Wi. one of my friends just got picked up by burton. Yeah are "hill" may have only 200 feet of verticle but if you came there are diffently a few people that could show you up for sure and some of thos pros at mammoth and big bear. Are you trowing rodeo 900s forntside and backside, switch and regular??? have you landed a 1080, have you back liped a 20 stair handrail????? no but at aare little 200 foot hill people can and do, so unless you have rode in wi. dont say sh*t

Burton sucks period, the shop at the resort by my hill doesnt even work on burton stuff because of the wack tech that they use. I ride rossy because i got a deal and i dont belive one board is going to greatly improve my skills over another. Its the same thing with people baching hyperlite. A rider is good because they have skill not because of the board they ride. Stop B1TCHING and ride what you like
