a hardflip as defined in skateboarding is a vertical spin, the board does a half back flip and a half kickflip then you proceed to land it as it comes the rest of the way down

im not bashing on nick taylors inward kickflip i think that is gnar gnar, it just isnt a hardflip.

i don't want to offend anyone, if i am wrong correct me.

endpro, no dude the way to initiate a hardflip is to pop a fs shuv and flick a kickflip, the vertical flip is just usually the motion it flips in cuz your front, or flick, foot stops the fs rotation. so much for your totally made up defintion, or poorly defined at least.

endpro, I agree with you, a hardflip is a vertical rotation, not flat...

It would be called an inward flip and not a hardflip if it wasn't.

Look at skateboarders do hardflips... doesn't look at all like a frontside shuv with a flip...

during a hardflip there is a point where the board is vertical under your nuts!

its a frontside shove with a kick flip, it just happens that most people can only land it if they let it get vertical. It's that lazy way to do it on a skateboard, prolly the only way to do it on a wakeskate.
My opinion is not based on what hawk(or anyone) said on some trick video, or anything of the sort. My opinion is based on 15+ years of skateboarding and the wealth of knowledge that comes along with it........ Laughing

a hardflip is a front shuv and kickflip. the backflip think is a front shuv and a kickflip. its the same thing. the backflip thing is also argued in skateboarding as whether its really a hardflip or not because they dont look much alike but the board still does the same thing, a front shuv with a kflip. with the backflip thing riders just did that to add style.

RUSSIAN, word. There's actually two styles of hardflip, and if you watch really closely they are the same thing. I personally think the flat spinning kinds (like on a wakeskate) look better anyway.

edit: Frye, word as well...

u can tell the board whether vertical or sidewayz has done a 180 and its done frontside its jus the style factor in skateboarding, but if u were to spray paint the tip of the deck it would change from the back to the front or vice versa whether vertical or horizontal its just maters that the board travels in a fs shuv and kickflip manner.

warlock, it does sound impossible that way. That is why it is called a hardflip, not an easyflip. but if all of you who say that a hardflip is either way(which im not saying is for sure wrong), then what in the heck would an inward kickflip be might i ask? i think that when it goes between your legs it is a hardflip. cuz if it wasnt then couldnt you hadflip three different ways.Example: front shuv and kickflip, between legs, backside shuv and kickflip. but a backside shuv and kickflip is a varial kickflip. so shouldnt the front be named differently than the between the legs way.Another words, if you did a between the legs one but it went slightly backside, would it still be a varial kickflip? I hope that made as much sense to you guys as it did in my head. i suck at saying things that i am thinking!
