I've had pics that look kickass of tricks I didn't land...........that buoy I missed like 5 times before I landed that one in the picture............but like looking through magazines I've been thinking......."did they really land that exact jump?"

mr. Blond, Dude i know exactly what you mean. I have no problem believing that they land the trick at some point.. but what if the shot they landed isn't nearly as good as another shot that he... i don't know... slipped out on or something?

Slapdown, exactly...........I dont mind whether they make it in that exact pic but is there like some unwritten code about using it anyways.........like if someone pulls off the first triple varial flip/body varial/loopty-loop but the pic turns out blurred..........would they just use one pic from an attempt?

mr. Blond, It's not so much that... i'm pretty sure most professional photographers out there would be taking pretty consistent shots in terms of focus and whatnot. But there's always other variables like a difference in lighting, positioning, etc..

You might be surprised at how many times photogs of every level will ask a rider to throw that trick just ooooone more time. I know Letchworth has mentioned it in The Standerd's photo blog here.

jerry, if you've never heard of the sponge, you've got some catching up to do...

For some reason, I did not take a picture of the traction pads, so I will have to add those some day. They weren't very good. The kicktail was too steep--it's more like a hook or something to brace against, and less like something you'd put your foot on for leverage. It also didn't have any concave features on it and it had very little arch support.
elaine bennis prefers the sponge, too.
