I have no clue what to say other than I am so excited to see the footage!

Nick obviously gave wakeskating something special with that place, looks like plenty others left their mark on it too.

Looking at the scoring post from TWT's insta I have no clue how this was scored, its has to be super hard for the judges when everyone is throwing down like that.

-=AlexXx=- I totally agree about the gram. We should make a site for people to upload all their wskate gram videos to, have a section for the tour so we all don't have to wait for the official release and can see all the possible coverage on one page

senza wake, A properly used hashtag is that solution.

I was refreshing #SuwanneePro all weekend.

It was the best I could get.

Maybe they need a Channel13 instagram with mini news reports Smash Smash Smash

I see Daniel Grant stepping up in a big way. So hard to believe that kid is only 16. The level of control that kid has is unreal.

senza wake, I think they have a deal to do the footage with someone to release the footage of the whole event. So out of respect, not much footage will surface until after that drops. They talked about that a bit last year about quality>instant gratification. Every edit last year was really cool, just sucks waiting. All the more reason to get to a tour stop for yourself!

Sounds like Rockstar owns (or wants to own) all the real footage of the tour, which is a good move by Rockstar. Which is fine by me because they do a pretty good job of covering the event.

I called it back in December! Austin and Andrew will be top contenders for the title this year

Stoaked for all the @thewakeskatetour Instagram updates as well. Kept me checking my phone all day as they updated us with heats and rider runs to see who made it through.

Thank you to all the riders and sponsors involved in this!

Recap is live on The Wakeskate Mag's website, looked like a blast. Love watching Ben's frontside Heels. Austin looked like he deserved this one but there was a lot of good riding from everyone involved.

So this might be whack. But as we see from guys like daniel grant, people have some serious ups being pulled from a cable. A) would they be able to translate that into doing big grabs down drops, rather than always flip tricks or grinds, and B) would it even score?

I just think it would be filthy to see someone do a stalefish down a drop, or even stale to boardslide. Grab+rail hits are huge in snowboarding, do you think it'll ever be seen in wakeskating?

johnnyk, I would imagine scoring for a comp would take into account difficulty of the trick, style, execution and landing. The difficulty of landing a flip trick down a gap is not even analogous to the difficulty of landing a grab down a gap.

I always wondered why there wasnt different divisons at the stops. I know there is obviously a womens division and a pro division, but why is there not an intermediate division for people who cant big spin onto a rail or heel flip down a gap. I think there would be a lot more riders there ready to ride instead of just showing up to watch. There would be more exposure/stoke for newer riders who know that they could attend and compete against others of there skill level. I havent been to a tour stop but it seems as if thats how would be.

jdarr, I think different divisions would be a cool idea but im not sure how good it would work at this point. I feel like there isnt really a clear division between who is a pro and who isnt. It would definitely get more people interested in riding in the contest if they didnt have to compete against a Pastura or Horan.

I have never understood why competitions need divisions. Are competitions not about being the best?

Divisions give people of varying abilities the chance to be in that atmosphere and feel it. I think competing is hard and i have a lot of respect for it...a different level of confidence, consistency and mental toughness. And some people are never going to be "elite", but why not give them the chance to challenge and prove themselves in the aforementioned areas?

That's my thought.

But i agree that for what the wakeskate tour is, divisions aren't necessary because it's full on elite, the best of the best.
