I think that brand would be negotiable if it's lightly used and a bow rider. Usually the standard wakeboard boats like Nautique or Malibu don't move much on price from the dealer. They have plenty of people ready to pay full list. I just sold my '06 SANTE 210. When I bought it new there was no room for negotiation with the dealer.

In your case I would throw out a price that your willing to pay and make sure you have the funds handy to close the deal the same day. Wait for the end of the month to deal. They are coin operated sales people and willing to deal more later in the month if they are short on their quota...

puckhead, yeah. I can't believe there is no movement on price. I have tried everything on a few salesmen and the best I can do is a few toss ins of store product.

I just hope the trade in is a decent amount

Hm.

There's plenty of margin in boats, but the dealer wont negotiate with you if they dont think they have to (and especially not in 2006). It's absolutely insane what the current wake boats are priced at these days. WTF. No idea how the market looks for bowriders, but the same negotiating principles will apply. The easiest thing for you to get "thrown in" with the deal are gift cards to the pro shop/gear shop so that you can outfit your boat with an anchor/dock lines/bimini/etc. I don't really feel like typing out why this is, but that's the first thing that my old shop would do if we needed to get a sale. I would definitely ask around about this even if you have no interest in the boat because then you can use that as a negotiating tactic: "well, X dealership is going to throw in a $500 gift card, do you guys offer anything like this?"

If salesmen sell more boats at the end of the month it's because they're hoping to get an extra boat deal added to that current pay period. Even if you're paid every two weeks, commissions checks (usually) come once a month and it suuuucks having to wait an extra 30 days knowing that you have $X,000.00 coming your way. I don't think the prices will vary much, though, because the salesman's manager still has to sign off on the deal. And besides, if you walk into a dealership at the end of the month and you're looking to buy on the spot then there's much less incentive for the salesman to discount the price much.

The easiest way to get the best pricing on a new boat is to wait until the off-season and buy a leftover 2013 when the 2014s start arriving at your dealership.

Trade-ins will never get you much money. Sell it yourself if possible.
