bondmaxbondrock, dude get a wood deck and learn on a wood deck i think you will appreciate it later on. I wakeboarded years ago and I always rode friends wakeskates and coming from a wakeboard i always disliked the composite decks.

This is wakeskating not wakeboarding, and although they are on water and pulled the same way, they are completely different sports.

for you an example would be coming from snowboarding, with wakeskating its all about edge control and learning to use your edges only (like a snowboard, as opposed to a wakeboard where you can just lean on the line).

A wood deck is WOOD and it literally feels ALIVE under your feet when you carve, ollie, and move on to throwing tricks. my first board was a liquid force impulse and it was amazing for me at the time while learning. but then once i rode a remote and water monster i realized how much better those boards felt to me for everything I was doing.

a composite board will get you on the water and riding, but if you stick with this sport and get comfortable you will start to feel the difference between compsite and wood. composite is just too stiff for me and it feels boring to ride. yes they will last longer and some people do like them, but I dont know anyone who rides one.

Haha yeah I can't wait to try this out! Plus wakeskating seems to have the best community out of any other sport. This website is awesome, and all you guys (and girls) are awesome.

bondmaxbondrock, dang that's a solid first wakeskate, what size did you get? I've rode it at the cable a few times. It's a little light for my taste, but a similar weight to the other skates you were looking at, but i personally like a heavy board. it's got a wood core that's sealed with a urethane sidewall and a grind base. this board will prolly last for years, i hope you enjoy it and are hooked like the rest of us on here!

Hell yeah man, electricsnow actually found it for me (so thanks again to her, and the other guy who sent me a PM about the same board). I got it used off ebay for $200, i'm so stoked.
