Only wakeskaters who are willing to go through the BS have one. Most people I talk to wonder why we would go through all that trouble of lugging the winch around in akward places just to wakeskate when they can go to the cable much easier.

It also takes time to scope a spot, get everyone out there at once, and ride without getting plucked by the man. Except for gas $ it really is kind of a beach unless you have enough people to enjoy it with.

I have one but it only pulls about 12 mph and I dont know whats wrong with it.

I would pay $700, all the extra money I have if I could get one that runs properly.

jdarr pretty much nailed it. I own a winch but haven't really used it in a while. These days with work and owning a house and just keeping up with life in general makes taking a day/afternoon out to get a couple people together, find spots and setup is hard to come by. When I have the time, I just go to the cable but I'm lucky enough to have one nearby.

If I didn't have any other means to ride, I'd use my winch a lot more, but cable has me spoiled.

I can winch in my backyard at a moments notice and have multiple rails out there plus always have my brother to ride with so we go just about every day.

For me winching is the most practical way to ride. The nearest cable is a sesitec 3 hours away that went in a year ago. My dad has a boat I could use, but I don't have money to throw down on boat gas very often. Plus, if you're trailering your boat like I would have to do it's the same amount of work as taking the winch out of your trunk and carrying/wheeling it to the spot. I mostly just ride flat water spots 'cause there's no other spots near me. It's also a way more laid back setting than boat or cable.

11RANDOMNESS, Living the dream. I'd ride every day if that was my setup. That's my goal for my next house. Some kind of pond big enough for a winch and maybe eventually a 2.0. Boats are too much work, haha.

Culp, this is straight from the siestec website.

What is the price of a System 2.0?
In the USA and Canada the System 2.0 starts at $30,900 (USD) plus any applicable taxes. Shipping is not included in the price of the system. Contact one of our staff members to get a customized quote on the System 2.0, additional options, and shipping to your location.

Also I don't think used ones will come up very often considering most of them go to cable parks.

GnarShredd, We just live on a lake and have a nice sandy beach, we set up the winch on the dock and run parallel to the shore. Allot like the set up the guys at Lake Picket have except with a sandy beach Very Happy

If I had an extra $800 I would build my own, but unfortunately that's a lot of money to me. I am also lucky to know a few friends with winches, which we definately don't use enough. It's usually me bringing the winch stoke and trying to winch. It's definately on my list for this year to winch more gaps.

I am making a 2.0 winch. Its going to be about 25,000 less than a 2.0 system.

In theory I have it 100% nailed. I just have to make it and try it.

You shouldnt have to overkill a 2.0

If a winch can pull someone with a pully in one direction why not two?

The cable is dangerous. You can't safely distribute a system that requires that kind of tension.
