In the last couple days I have been to both a doctor and a chiropractor and it has got me thinking about how opinionated people are on chiropractors. I know there was a topic on here a couple years ago and it got pretty good.

What is your expierence?

They help reduce the pain for a short time but it does not help in the long run.... If you are not in extreme pain I highly suggest some pilates and yoga stretches and other back exercises depending on the severity of the injury or pain. Obviously don't go exercising with a herniated disk... seek medical attention... but if you strained your back go head and try some pilates stuff. I fell off a trampoline when i was younger and landed on my tail bone, had some bad back trouble for years and after working out my back and doing a number of stretches and pilates every morning and night it eventually completely went away and have not had an issue since.

I searched youtube really fast for a example of the kinda of stuff i did that helped, and this was the first one, sorry for the fat chick ahah

all of those things really help stretch and work your back muscles, and its really relaxing.

good luck man.

The problem with Chiropractors is they know very little about medical field. The problem with the medical field is they know absolutely nothing about chiropractic. The other problem with the medical field is that our nation spends the most amount of money of any 1st world country and have the poorest health. I am a Chiropractor and will soon be a FNP (Nurse Practitioner). I went this route so if absolutely necessary I could prescribe some medications or do steroid injections to get the patient comfortable enough for less or non-invassive treatment (which should be the goal). Point being, I am confident and knowledgable about both professions and understand both sides of the coin. So I feel like a credible source to answer.

miller, that is my experience

I had back problems for five months, and this set of exercises eliminated it in about two weeks:

I've never been to one myself but after my time in the circus I had a lot of my close friends go to one. They pretty much echo what -=AlexXx=- mentioned in how it helped short-term but didn't really solve any problems long-term. There's no substitute for exercise and keeping yourself in shape.
