So last semester in my Cross Cultural Psychology course we had a class on Religious Bigotry that resulted in an email to the entire class on that subject and the purpose of a university that made on to Huffington Post. He was then offered a job to blog for them which he accepted. Easily the best professor I have ever had.
Here is the article with the backstory and email, it is fairly long, but I highly encourage reading it, enjoy.

That's what happens when a progressive class is accessible to regressive people. I always felt academia should enact a pre-requisite essay for students before being admitted to any non-basic course in college. Not so much over what you know about the content, but rather the quality of your intentions, and aspirations. People could of easily been weeded out before attending Cross Cultural Psychology.. |

He made it very clear on the first day of class that if you are not comfortable with your beliefs being questioned or if you are uncomfortable with challenging the status quo in general, then you should drop the course.
I really like your concept of a pre-requisite essay for classes of that sort though, that should exist for attending a university in general, but universities have become degree factories nowadays instead of a institutions of higher learning, so that wouldn't be applicable. _________________ Team Dream Sleds

Negy sounds like the kind of guy whose class I would want to take just because he's a badass and is ready to challenge everything that you know. Is he still teaching or did he leave? _________________ facebook.com/TheLiquidPlayground

He is still teaching at UCF. I wish there were more classes I could take with him, he only teaches for general psychology, cross cultural psychology, and sexual behavior (which in my opinion should be a recomended course at every university), and I have already taken those with him. He also occasionally does cross cultural psychology courses during summer time in Central and South America. _________________ Team Dream Sleds
