Has anyone ever rode behind one of these? I was thinking about getting one if my Seadoo ever dies on me.

Please tell me more. Just how big (or small) is the wake and will it pull two at once? I've never seen one on the water anywhere. I appreciate any input, thanks.

I think these have different engine HP options so depending on which one you get will determine if you can pull doubles.

I found that the wake was really sick at about 55 ft out

You can wake to wake it for sure if you are decent at riding.

Nice re-entry as well

Easy to drive in my opinion. I dont have one but a friend of mine who is a woman has one and she had no problem pulling me at a good speed and straight.

Solid boat in my opinion

Whats the cost? I haven seen a 170 before but not a 150. The 170 I think you can get with a bigger HP motor IIRC

Over $20k with the tower and a 60 hp Merc 4 stroke. There is also a 130 for quite a bit less with a 40 hp but I don't think it has an optional tower. The interiors are bare bones so the optional seat covers, ladder, bow rails, ect. all add up to more $$$.

I agree with this.

I would probably get a late 80's early 90's Sport Nautique or a Late 90's Air Nautique

You can get one of these 2009's or 10's for almost half what they are new tho. Thats the route I would take if you are dead set on owning one of these.

I had a 2004 super sport with the 2 stroke 60hp. Seriously the most fun boat I have ever ridden behind. Has a good, solid lip about 60' back and turns around nice and quick. Mine obviously didn't have the tower but I'm sure that would make it all the better.

Damn, do I miss that boat.

my old 13ft whaler with a 40hp was the best boat ever.... small enough where we could ride for days on a 5 gallon.... easy to clean and and hella reliable. Plus the start up i/o was delicious and the lip was very nice for lips or reentry. ugh i miss that lil guy <333333 I think we got that thing used for WAY cheaper than 20k... and got almost all our money back on the resale. Whalers hold value... go with used though ull knock a WHOLE much off your price.

Thanks everybody for your opinions on the Whaler. There is another boat I'm considering also, custom made by Ridiculous Winches. It's posted on Craig"s List Tampa.
