Just ordered a new board, never ridden a wood board and was wondering if it is needed to plug the fin holes? Will it warp or something if I don't?

It doesn't hurt to fill them if you are not planning on using them. I have used wax.....and silicone

deepcove, I feel like silicone would work better for me because of the heat. You can just get it at like home depot lowes right?

Polyurethane ia a good product to use on wood. It won't fill the holes but it will seal the exposed wood in the hole. I've use this on my 2004 LF Butter Board since it was new and it's still looking good. Once or twice a year I'll spray the whole board to protect it from the elements and seal up any new chips or cracks that have developed.

just make sure it doesn't go out of the holes, because that will stick like glue on the rails (pun not intended haha)

11RANDOMNESS, It's been 100+ degrees all summer and mine are still fine. Fill them from the bottom with tape on the top. Simple and easy.

True, never had a problem with wax melting. I live in FL. It gets pretty hot here.

Make sure and fill the whole hole, no just the bottom if thats what u were doing.

I tried wax in my fin holes last year and it melted first day; but then again I'm in Texas. Haven't really bothered to try anything else.
