I can consistently spin my bigspins but I rarely land them. I can get my feet on the board but its in a position where I have to reach a little with my feet and I can't land on my toes so it slides out. Is there a trick to staying over the board?

i think positioning from the wake and body vs handle are the keys

cut out a little shorter than you would to do a shuv and really focus on the handle and your body

if you are throwing it away(twards the flats) you just have to open up less during the initiation with the handle

your body should stay pretty much in the same place

idk if that even makes sense or helps

but i used to cut far out and throw them away and always slip out

so i brought them in closer and did less with my body and let the rope do the 180 for me so i could focus on the board

so maybe try putting the rope a bit further inward(to the wake) and a bit forward as to almost pull yourself around to the 180 position so you actually do less traveling

im really having a hard time thinking about how to describe what im saying

its like initiating the rotation of the 180 to a point where you know where the 180 should end , so that when doing the fb you put it where you land it on your toes ..

doing an ollie 180 and getting smallest (side to side) distance you can , trying to put the board back down in the exact place it left , vs a normal 180 usually ends up about a boards width to the side....

that's a good way of putting it, that is the problem I'm having.

also I think you're right I may be opening up the shoulders a little too much. I saw that on a trick tip that you should open up before throwing it, maybe I need to open up the shoulders at a smaller angle.

88skisupreme, for sure

and when you do them in/out its a wider angle than in the flats

its all about the start point and end point

just play around with it

throwing the fb and trying to make sure you catch it up front , not beside you

keep your shoulders straight , and as you spin the board try to get your feet spread out to land stable
