How often do you ride with a spotter?

I was just wondering how many people ride with a person spotting and how many go out with just a driver and a rider.

It seems like most people in videos don't have a person spotting so I wanted to do a poll.

Last year me and my brother tried going out just me and him and in like 10 minutes we got pulled over and were given a ticket. Embarassed

Get a mirror man. Definite life saver when it comes to being able to ride.

in most states like maryland u gotta have a spotter. theres usually always someone around here that wants to go for a boat ride and drink beer, and usually they never ride so it works out great.

as far as riding i like to get around 3 to 4 days or evenings a week to ride once it gets warm

When riding boat we always have a spotter, but with a ski we usually dont

any time i ever get to ride on a boat theres about 4 or more people in it. they're all usually drunk but sometimes they look back for me >_>

WERDna, Yep, you do need a flag when the rider is down. So if you don't have a spotter, then you'll probably get both a no-spotter ticket and a no-flag ticket. And then they'll check your vests to make sure you have enough CGAs, etc.

u don't need flags here in MD......spotters can be hard to come by...the offseason is no problemo, but this time of year johnny likes to snoop around. its nice to have different spots to ride, for some are a lil too far outta the way for jla.

just chalk him up with the 3 floaters that have turned up this year.......1 in the spot i like to ride local Rolling Eyes

I have a spotter less than half the time in my boat. Got a ticket 2 years ago, in Canada its a $135 fine for the driver only. Up until a few years ago it was a criminal offence that could get you jail time in Canada Shocked

Having to have a flag sounds like it sucks, I ride without a spotter like 80% of the time. It's illegal but its so much easier to just have you and another person

I have no idea what the laws are on my lake but on jetski we never have a spotter and no one uses flags.

but i got a $300 ticket for driving while sitting on the life vest instead of wearing it.

but its legal to ride behind a boat with no vest.
