I tried the front foot pump motion today. It's a little different and seems like it will take a little getting used to. Is it just one front foot pump then straight to back foot like a quick rocking motion or 2 pumps? I was doing like a quick rocking motion front foot to back foot ollie and it seemed poppy but I dunno. I popped a big one, and when I came down from the ollie it made me dig the nose into the water. That didn't feel good ha.

Thanks man!!! That's the best video part I've seen of pre pop. Now I know that I'm definitely doing it right. Just have to get more used to it.

the video i showed was a very extreme example, I posted it because in alot of other video's the motion is really subtle and hard to spot if your not keeping an eye out for it.

It's definitely subtle in most videos. When I first started realizing it I was bamboozled.

On kickflips most defiinitely, when doing kickflips you have to get the highest ollie you can to get the board high enough to be able to spin. So yes I try and pre pop as much as i can without it being out of control since my foot is positioned closer off the edge of the board

Sorry but I find this a bit silly... I have tried this "pre pop" everyone is talking about for years and still hate how it feels. It makes tricks look awkward and sometimes can throw off your timing, but what do I know. If I were you I would work on making your ollies larger with one fluid motion rather than worrying about how much "pre pop" you just got...

i have a hard time keeping my timing right while doing an exagerated prepop, i had better luck with just doing a really relaxed version that i just transfer all my weight to my front foot and then lean back into the ollie.

then agian i suck Rolling Eyes i was just having trouble with the whole bounce deal of the big pre pop, i really need to try both ways going both faster and slower to see how each works differently
