Ok so I suck...this question itself is probably gonna make some of you go huh?

I don't get how to get pop off the wake itself. I understand the ollie concept. I can ollie a little bit on the flats, and if I actually go really slow towards the wake I can get some pop. However, when I cut into the wake hard and try to use the wake to actually go high...I don't. Instead I end up pumping over the wake? (Kinda like you would do in a park on a skateboard to gain speed over humps, etc.) Are there any tips here? I just don't get how to use the wake as a kicker of sorts? Is it just timing?

DON'T suck up your knees at the wake, stand tall and extend your legs. Only suck up your knees while your in the air to keep your board with you.

Yeah bud, just extend your legs at the top of the wake. Stand tall and straighten your legs out at the wake then once your in the air suck them up to keep the board with you. It's like if you were on a trampoline. I don't have one, but I've jumped on them many times. If you stand on a tramp and just jump you won't go high. You have to go down absorb the energy from the tramp then rise up. It's that same motion. So just rise up the wake. Also, stay on your edge.

Wow definitely doing this completely wrong. I've always tried to Ollie at the top of the wake. So I crouch down into like an Ollie stance. I mess around with it this week and see if I can figure it out

what your doing is absorbing the impact from the wake, stiffen your legs straight so it pops you off the wake, also once your in the air push the handle down by your waist,. good luck homie
