1st winch mission

my friend is making a video of the footage but there isnt a ton but ill wait to let the video explain our setup.

anyway after winching the other night we decided to pick up the winch on the feeder road so we drove around and my buddy drove up on the curb to put the winch on his truck and i kept my gf's car in the street cause there was no one on the road cause its kindof in the middle of no where. well as soon as we got the winch on and were saying our goodbyes, some mother fvcker slammed her parked car with the hazards on doing 40.. the back hatch was open because we were throwing the boards in there and he fvcking slammed it. i just couldnt believe it! there literally is not a light or anything near where i parked so he must have not been paying attention for FOREVER and still never managed to hit the brakes.

probably has to be the worst first time in winching history.

i have pics and shizzle but it just depresses me too much to post. luckily he did have insurance but her car might be totaled and if it is, there is no way she will get nearly what the car is worth.

ya its all good. looking forward to the next mission. our winch isnt strong enough to do a water start so what kind of start do you guys recommend?

texasT, standing still and jumping

do this

stand with the board at 90deg in the water right in front of you (you should be able to move one foot and adjust the board in the water)

have the driver pull out the slack in the line

you should be standing in a crouched position leaning back against the line like your playing tug of war with the winch

so you then give the thumbs up

and as the winch wins tug of war and starts to pull you twards your board hop straight in the air and land on your board (you dont have to jump high far or hard) just a little hop and land on your heels

so boom your already up over the water and the winch had to do very little work

and runnning and jumping with the board works as well

canalskater, You'd feel too stupid if you'd have hit me. People are allowed to pull over with their flashers on. Also you can't understand how much traffic there isn't on this feeder road.

fastgreens, i just knew of a couple of places near my parents house on the NW side of houston. the 2nd one was much better and we didnt get into any trouble so i was pretty pleased with it.
