Bouncing before ollies

Why do some people like bounce the board before they ollie? To me it looks stupid and shows no style. Does anyone here do it and why?

it not a bounce, when you push your front foot down then your back the board gets deeper in the water and gives you more pop

I do it when ever Im gunna oille or shuv over something high... It gives me alittle extra pop... I dont think it shows style... its just something you do

first off i do it and i can ollie high, 2nd on the bilev u dont need too

It's giving your tail a little more leverage for on the way back into the water when popping. I'm personally kind of tripped out on digging the nose of the board into the water, so I don't really do it that much.

I really don't think it's that bad looking, there's much worse things you could do, like do a backslide when you land a trick and pull yourself back out of the water... Funny, but looks awful... What would you know about style anyway Vance, you wear a trucker hat when riding... (just kidding, just kidding, just kidding)

i think its more of a timing thing, i dont do it just because i think it unbalances me. but it can give you more pop if you do it right. you can push down more and create more pop using two feet than with just your back foot.

ive tried bouncing, it diddnt seem to do anything for me other then make me off balance....im sure i did it wrong
