Are you guys using google maps and bing?

There's so many lakes around me but for some reason I can't find much at all.

Any ideas?

I have the same problems. I just use google maps and trace canals and streams and that's how I've found the few I have. I found one that is beautiful except it has a guard rail making it impossible to ride. Very depressing because you couldn't see it on google maps. But anyway yeah just trace canals and rivers. Also look at existing gaps so you know what to be looking for.

Here is how I started.

Go to google.maps.com (on yer web browser)

stay in map view.

look for blue. (easier to spot in map view)

follow blue from largest width to the smaller feed source

look for weird lines like this

right click and get directions

then in that bubble there will be a place to star it and to add to your map.

if you signed into google maps on your phone it will automatically show up

if you cant view it in the right angle copy the coordinates into bing birds eye

if that still doesnt work take the coordinates into google earth

if spot is still under tree ----move the photo date back until it is a winter shot...no leaves

shred all your river systems back to their origins

shred the local areas....then expand

soon you map looks like
