they found a bottle of methadone next to his bedside and are now claiming it as an overdose.. regardless he was the only true competition for Kelly Slater and one of the greatest surfers of all time. RIP andy. If we had waves today, id go surf one for you |

only half of those who go untreated die from dengue fever and there are two types of dengue. assuming he had the bad one and was near hospitals that seems to mean he was in the latter half. regardless it sucks. was he a recovering H or oxy addict? still doesn't matter, but i'd like to know. _________________ "I said take me to the sea, cause that is where I want to be. page 3, paragraph 2, states, Two prescription meds were found in the room, Alprazolam, and Zolpidem or Xanax and Ambien.
Andy was in peak physical condition and if i were in his shoes and had flu like symptoms i would have done the same thing, lay in bed and sweat it out waiting for my flight home but dengue fever escalates pretty quick and he probably didn't realize just how sick he was.

This is really messed up... now I don't feel like a rebel when I say that popping pills is overrated. Doctors these days will give you a prescription for any of those if you just tell them you are sick, depressed, having trouble sleeping, etc...
I wonder what medical marijuana is for...

Wtf?
1. Andy Irons is in Puerto Rico for a contest, gets sick and goes to a Doctor. Doctor tells Irons to not do the contest and seek medical attention.
2. Andy listens to the Doctor, tells friends he could possible have Dengue fever, and begins to head home.
3. Andy falls asleep in hotel room in Miami, misses wake up call.
4. Hotel workers knock on door, no answer.
5. Hotel workers enter the room, find a unresponsive body, call the police.
6. Police and paramedics enter room, pronounce him dead.
7. Police find two prescription bottles, Alprazolam and Zolpidem. Until proven otherwise, these bottles were prescribed to him by a doctor on 10/26.
8. An online newspaper, received a tip from an anonymous reporter, who called the M.E.'s office, received a random, unconfirmed, and anonymous statement, that one of the bottles contained Methadone.
And now you guys are saying it was an overdose and he was a heroine addict.
Knock that shi.t off.
RIP Andy, condolences to the family and unborn child. |

the first bottle is just generic xanax isn't it? we can all speculate, but only an autopsy can determine things. who knows. he's a pro athlete. what if he had some crazy injury and accidentally got addicted to opiates and wanted off and got on methadone(usually use soboxin now) and stuff happened. maybe he was a junky. he obviously was/is a good person and surfer so who cares how it happened. _________________ "I said take me to the sea, cause that is where I want to be.
