Im going to build a PVC rail that i see in a lot of videos recently. Looks super simple. A couple questions though...

A. Do you just pound the 4x4 posts in the ground?

B. Any 45 degree cross supports?

C. What diameter PVC, most look around 6" or 8"

Thanks for any sweet tips.

Take you 4x4s and pound them into the ground with a sledge...you may have to point the end thats going down.

Then take 2x4s and hammer them in at an angle and screw those into the 4x4s.

Then cut the 4x4s to length with a sawzall or just a regular saw and mount that 6" pvc on them and your set.

Birthday

if it's one pvc pipe then wider may be better really only as a mental assistance, think of when your board contacts the pvc pipe or any circle for that matter very little of the pipe contacts your board

If you wrap the top of the 4x4 with tape or other material, it will help save the post while hammering it. Only if necessary of course.

What do you use to cut the holes in the PVC for the posts?
