im from new hampshire and have been riding for a long time, i used to boardercross up at sugarloaf everyyear, highest i came was 5th though. but anyway, i ride burton si's and they are amazing, but i used to get so much shizzle for it, its not like they are clickers and your boot is stiff and shet. what are you opinions on them.

step in's are not only gay and for retail boards but they are dangerous... I have seen on more than one occasion riders having there foot come out and really hurting them selfs....

stick to the strap bindings

I have K2 clicker HBs, they suck, I wanna upgrade to flight migs, my personal experience with step ins, the K2's I own, and the Rossi's and Burtons I have ridden leave me unimpressed, unfortunately I dont have enough scratch to upgrade all my gear so the snowboard stuff has fell by the wayside

omg evan, ive been riding the si's for like 3 years, they are amazing. i have never fell out of them once, and they feel exactly like straps. i agree with all other step ins are gay because i tried the clickers and hated life, but you cant say the si's are gay. i mean i used them in bordercross and thats pretty intense, nothing ever happend. kento try the si's seriously bro you will love them. and they take like 1 sec to get into cause you dont have to line anything up, you just stomp down.

haywoodstheman, well if you have found a good pair and they work the way you want them to... then thats good

thats just my opinion on stepins in general but I havn't tryed the si's yet so maybe I would like those...

also with most step in's you need step in boots and most step in boots are fug ugly pugly...

i used the step in when i first tried snowboarding like 2-3 yrs ago. i rented a board and it had those. well after the lesson i got (came with the rented board) i was riding and my back foot popped out and i ate shizzle and my chin made contact with the nose of the board.

after that i went and bought a burton with straps and hell no im not going back....

haywoodstheman, actuall ymy prob is not the click mechanism, my bidings are solid, they just havce to constantly be fine tuned to stay that way, the boots are what kill it for me most non strap boots are gross feeling IMO, but Ill hav eto look into those fr sure

visual aid

boot.jpg

 Description:
2 divots on boot. they are EXACTLy like normal boots until you tighten up that strap, and my snowpants cover up the strap so no one really knows they are stepins, seriously try them, guarentee you will ditch the straps.

exactly like normal strap bindings. except those metal things on the side snap into the 2 divots on the boot to hold the foot down..
