hey peeps

ive recently started wakeskating, now ive been to a local club and can get up and ride behind there ski nautique with a pylon, i can switch carve,50-50 a few other basics so not a complete pleb Laughing

but when i get behind my boat which is a 16ft fletcher with a 90hp outboard merc. i just cant get out of the water Twisted Evil im only using a ordinary ski pole so not getting the additional lift, soooo

my questions are is a 90hp man enough to get me out off the water im 6ft 3 and weigh 90kg and if the answer is yes

what am i doing wrong i just seem to drag through the water

cheers

fastgreens and I ride behind his 18ft G3 with a 90hp yamaha. It has PLENTY of umphhh to get you up. Have your knees sucked up to your chest, arms straight, and use your heels/toes to adjust the skate to get on plane. G/L

i ride behind a 50 and have friends pushin about 200 that can deepwater start.
you just have to commit and hold on..it will take alittle longer to get up especially since you dont have the extra upwards pull your used to

try starting with the board underneath you. I found it much easier. Let the boat pull you up to the surface instead off trying hard. And you can do 50-50s?!?!?

i.e board sliding the lip of the wake.

sounds like its my crap technique then lol

one last thing for you guys running outboards, when you set of do you pre set your trim or bring the boat upto speed and then set the trim of the engine Embarassed

i dont have an outboard but you definitely want the trim down so you can get on plane faster with a nice solid pull...

Let the boat do the work pulling you up dont try and force yourself up that should do the trick

i get my trim set good like the first couple of runs and then i just leave it pre set for the rest of the runs once i find the sweet spot..mainly because i have other people driving my boat and dont want them messing though Rolling Eyes
