A bit pricey, but the best design for not taking on water I've seen with a pleasant look:

Is the brand name really generic surplus? I love em...I'm pretty sure Sperrys or any boating shoe is the way the go. Not sure why everyone thinks you need q skate shoe. Lightweight and able to handle water is more important. Sperrys are expensive tho...

I had some mesh DVS like that. They got ripped up after 2 months of riding. I dont know if I would want to spend 95 bucks on some shoes that are gonna get destroyed super quick. I say go to pay less Smash

Brand name is really not a huge hang up of mine. I normally skate in classic vans, so this is right up my alley.

I may bite the bullet and invest for a through inspection if its durability. Only problem is, the amount of rides I would get in wouldn't compare to people who have access to a pull daily.

I would probably break some part of my foot in those things. I like padding, and heavy shoes

BittenToDeath, Have you tried differently-weighted shoes? Lighter isn't always better. Personally i love heavy shoes. I tried a pretty wide spectrum of mesh shoes, thin-ass vans, normal skate shoes, etc. And i'm super glad i did since i'm pretty happy about where my tastes have landed me. What shoes are you riding in now? What others have you ridden in?
