ya the peace sign is our shop logo and says Jimiz Wake N' Skate, we will have shirts with that logo on there in 3 different color schemes. We just opened a month and a half ago and are planning our grand opening around the middle of march, If anyone is ever in the Orlando area please come check us out and support a local shop ran and owned by a rider!! We will soon have oak boards and hopefully some remote decks in the future!!

Thanks for all the kind comments!!

Are we not the first shop to make SHOP DECKS, it should have been done already if it hasn't been. Every skate shop out there usually carries some shop decks!

Ed was going to make shop decks two years ago or so but I talked him out of it because of what it has done to the skate industry. I guess it's my personal politics, but after hearing both sides I just think it's better to support the companies that put on demos, make videos and sustain the industry.

All that aside, strictly skates had liberation make a shop deck or at least a collabo.

electricsnow, most local board shops I know of put on demos, make shop videos and definitely help sustain the industry...no?

and I would love to carry some Obscura boards but with Bill's monopoly on the wake industry around Orlando it's impossible...

of course good shops will support their local scene. With a shop board, one of the arguments is that it's basically profit for the shop and not the company that's supporting a team, producing a video or other media, blah blah blah. (can you really say a shop video operates in the same realm as a professional video produced by lakai or any other major brand?) But I get that companies still need to give the buyers what they want, be it good price point decks or not making shiznackle boards that fall apart.

Bill is established and of course that works in his favor. I don't know how much is political and I'm not even going to speculate, but you can't blame a brand for avoiding oversaturation. Sometimes shops just can't carry the brands they want if there's already a dealer that's too close to their location.

electricsnow, Do you really consider wakeskating equal to skateboarding industry-wise? James said in his first sentence that they are New wakeskates, Robin must not have any problem with his skateshop making a profit. Isn't that why you open a shop? There is room for this in wakeskating when your using a reputable manufacturer. No one had a problem with New making the Byerly wood skate for GD. Maybe they are happy as a manufacturing outlet for wakeskating as a whole. I would rather sell a shop 20 decks with their name on them for a discount than wait to sell 20 decks with my name on them to people who may or may not buy them.
You have some pull with the Cassette boys, get those Obscuras in Logics shop! lol. Sorry for ranting but I am on week 4 of a broken arm and I really need to skate soon!

-LoGiK-, I dont know if I missed it in another thread, but what is the street address for the shop? Next time I make it out that way I would like to come check it out.

Ya Esnow I can see where you are coming from that skate shop decks are so cheap compared to pro model decks etc.. but if a shop deck can get the same press as a chocolate and girl for 10x cheaper, then I'd assume that all the big corps can make them even cheaper then the shops get them made for, so really the big corps are the ones who are charging out the ass for a skate deck and ruining the skate industry....

and unfortunately I wish we got some super good deal for getting handmade quality decks made, but the shop graphic New's are even a little more than the 2010 oaks we will be getting here shortly. So all I'm saying is that these wakeskates will be the same price as all other wakeskates not super super cheap like skate shop decks compared to others.

DVSFOUR20, here you go...I work everyday but sunday from open to close so be sure to come in and say hi!
