On Friday morning NASA will be firing a rocket into the Moon which will cause an explosion big enough for you to see with even a small telescope.

There's a bunch of other details and information and stuff in the link below. And I'm sure there's more official announcements than a gizmodo link, but honestly who cares. All I know is 4:30am tomorrow I'll be watching the NASA TV stream. This is going to be awesome. I can't imagine it'll be happening again any time soon.
