That was a really cool interview. I love how the graphics represented the "transformation" of wakeskating.

Cool, I'm glad you guys liked it. It was my first time using that slideshow program and it was actually for a communications assignment. There are things I like and some I don't, but the one thing I really dig is just the story. That was why I had those extended sections added. If anyone out there is like me (and I know everyone isn't), then you can't get enough of that stuff. I guess to hear the significance behind the super 8, and to get a small glimpse of what it was like during that time with thomas, chris and cassette is really cool.

And the story with the transformers just blew my mind because that graphic series turned out to represent so much more than what i knew. Originally it was just cool because it was a really creative way to continue to run with the chris mack graphic style while still maintaining the audio/visual theme. Plus, as a young lass I had a few transformers of my own and I still have a couple of the cassette tape transformers above my desk. But anyway, just to have chris expand and talk about their creative process and what the series meant on another level was really cool and it gave me a new level of respect for those graphics. As a small side note, chris still has the transformers he and thomas bought that inspired that whole graphic concept.

Also, sorry if the quicktime files automatically play on your computer. I found a quicktime setting on my computer that I unchecked so the files don't automatically play when the article opens. It's just tricky because things are totally different from computer to computer. Right now I'm on a mac at school and that article looks totally different (and yes, the files started to play right away).

Oh, I have to say that the slideshow was kind of self-serving because that's basically how I unveiled my chris mack painting. It's what I've been using for my avatar for quite some time.

And I have another idea for an iconography slideshow/interview project, and I'm sure you'll dig it just as much as the mack project.

And here's a link for those who don't know what's going on, or that we even have a front page Laughing :http://www.wakeskating.com/showarticle.php?a=784

Just a little update: I turned the audio files into links so you don't have to deal with the noise that is two different audio clips playing at once.

that graphic looks so hott on the top of the charts on the home page. i love how they kept the graphics simple and "unfinished"..........this is why they are simply beautiful. especially the older one's.

the transformation in the transformers is truly amazing and the improvision into it are spectacular.

documenting the early years with wooden wakeskates with graphics of tapes recorders and cameras was simply genius.

it would be so nice if thomas and mack got together again and did some art on wood.

I would love to see chris' stuff on a DVS shoe. DVS did this shoe for the skatelab and they were able to get a bunch of the park's old logos on the shoe, along with a bunch of iconic skateboard graphics and such. It's a hot looking shoe, and just seeing that made me think about how much potential a DVS wakeskate collabo shoe with chris mack would have.

That's nice of you to say, labellethrasher. I have a lot to learn but that project was definitely a start because I've never done anything like that before. Hopefully there's more to come!

electricsnow, awesome. I loved the article. I've been consulting with Chris about a tattoo. His shop is very sick.

dbanana, Thanks! I figured you would be one of the people who'd like it.

Jesse, that's bad ass! I would like a cassette tattoo from him, but I'm not much of a tattoo girl, so I'd have to figure out what, where and when (there's time). But chris always updates his myspace with his work and he's a tallented tattoo artist. Cool
