| will do..................picking my boy up from school (maybe a bit early)....then heading up for the two hour ride. getting there about 5ish. may take some sausage dogs are something simple to grill out in the parking lot. just gonna be me and him. ive seen dmb 5 or 6 times but they will never get old. definitly put on good shows. it will be his first like i said before. now the hard part will be to keep him away from the unique smell that will be lingering. |

| WOW!!!! is the only thing that describes the night i had at this concert with my son. we get there a little early. i drink he eats. we get into the amphitheater and made our way around to the other side to get my son as close as i could without getting into the covered pavillion seating. we didnt have tickets for there just lawn seats. it was pretty close to the stage even though,...but was off to the side somewhat. we watched THE AVETT BROTHERS play and when they were wrapping up,....this man walks over and says,..."hey,...im the avett brothers father." he goes on to pull out his i.d. and sure enough it was him. he said he was going to try to get me and my son backstage. he came back a short time later and said he couldnt get us backstage because of security for DMB. left and came back again in a few minutes. he said "here,...take these." it was his tickets where the were seating about four rows from center stage under the covered pavillion section. i couldnt stop telling him thank you. so my son and i went on in and found our seat. dave played for awhile and it was awsome. then this cute chic comes up and says she wants to take my son to the very front to see dave play. i kept my eye on him and dave finished up that song. they took a quick break and the drummer of DMB came up to the corner of the stage and called over my son. he handed him two drum sticks and told him "take care of these kid. do you like the drums??" he said yes of corse. then the chic brought him back to me. he was grinning from ear to ear. dave played on for a few songs then took one more quick break to throw out drum sticks and guitar pics and so forth. a drum stick hit my son in the head and then he dove to the ground to get it. now he has three. DMB then played one more song then it was over. the stars were definitly aligned that night for me and my son. i even took the extra step and went to THE AVETT BROTHERS web site, made a profile and proceded to tell my story. got a reply from the sister that her father pointed us out on the way out and she will be sure to pass along my BIG THANK YOU!!!! sory for the long relply but it was way woth it i hope........... |
